Beginning

Life with Isla started April 26, 2009. She was due to arrive May 13, but she decided to come early. My water broke while I was organizing clothes and Marc was trying to put the pack and play together without directions. From the time my water broke until Isla was born was 18 hours. I won't go into detail, but it was back labor (I would highly recommend an epidural) and although she was small, her head wasn't. Isla Rosemary was born at 3:25 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2009 weighing in at 6 lb. 9.5 ounces, 19 inches long with a head circumference of 13 3/4 inches. Although her first Apgar was a 5, she quickly rebounded to a 9. At the time I have started this blog, she is now 8 months, around 21 pounds, about 26 inches long and at last check her head was still huge-17 1/4.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, Peaches and Peas. My name is Romy and I live in Woolwich, Maine with my husband Marc, daughter Isla, big black lab Buckley and grumpy old cat Brewster. The title of this blog was inspired by my daughter's favorite (peaches) and least favorite food (peas). Introducing solids is only one of the trips my husband and I are taking on this journey into parenthood. I plan on inviting you along on this journey, which, thus far, has been eye-opening!
And away we go!
